America True is a 501(c)(3) foundation led by Dawn Riley that promotes and
introduces young people to the joys of sailing nationwide. The America True
Youth Program was born in 1997 while CEO Dawn Riley was campaigning for
the 2000 America's Cup. Under Dawn's direction, America True was the first
syndicate in history to be headed by a woman, and the first to have a co-ed
crew. Our motto, "If you can dream it, you can do it", carried
us through a strong showing in the semifinal round of the Louis Vuitton
Cup. But this motto and the spirit of the crew have left an even stronger
legacy. Today America True is solely dedicated to the youth program we started
during the campaign. And while America True no longer participates in the
America's Cup, we are more dedicated than ever to sharing the life lessons
of sailing with youth throughout the United States. "If you can dream
it, you can do it"!
Today, America True is 100% dedicated to providing youth with the opportunity
to benefit from sailing and its inherent life lessons. America True's office
is located at Pier 40 on San Francisco's historic waterfront.
